Please read our Transporting Samples page to ensure your samples are received at the lab within hold time and have the correct preservation.
Standard Delivery services are economical, but can take more than one day to reach the laboratory. Besides hold time problems, it is extremely difficult to keep samples cold, or prevent them from freezing in the winter, for more than 24 hours in shipment.
- USPS: Although very convenient, USPS can take 2 or more days to deliver a package. Check with your Post Master about expected delivery time. Priority Mail can be expensive and still is not guaranteed to deliver the next day.
- UPS: UPS ground delivery almost always delivers the next day if you are within a three hour drive of the laboratory. However that can be delayed, without warning, around the holidays. Next Day delivery is very reliable but also expensive.
Same-Day Delivery services are more expensive than Standard Delivery shipments but often less expensive than next day air delivery. Check if there’s a route available in your area.
